Best Shampoo For Remy Hair Extensions

Which shampoo should I use? lots of shampoos have Sulfate in them. So why are they bad?
Sulfates strip hair of essential oils and dries out hair. This damages hair follicles which results in hair loss, breakage and causes the hair to lack lustre and life. The best shampoo's to use are natural, organic and sulfate free. Most shampoos available on the market today contain some type of sulfate, therefore it's essential you read the ingredients. The main words to look out for (and stay clear of) are:
  • Amonium Laureth Sulfate

  • Sodium Laureth Sulfate

  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

  • Myreth Sulfate (the mildest form of sulfate)

  • TEA Lauryl sulfate, Ammonium Xylene Sulfonate, Sulfer

  • TEA Dodecylbenzene

  • Selenium Sulfides,

  • and almost anything else that ends in sulfate, sulfonate, or sulfide.

To avoid using these harsh chemicals on your hair use organic shampoos and conditioners and use moisturising oils such as Almond or Coconut. Currently our absolute favourite shampoo and conditioner is Liz Earl's Botanical Shine Shampoo Please read our hair care page for further information and a list of our other preferred shampoos.
